World on the Web Beta Program Ending

A few months back, SpotON3D released a beta of its World on the Web Plug-in for Windows -- a revolutionary application which allows you to bypass the standalone browser, and to come directly into SpotON3D from inside of a web page. More recently, we issued a beta release of a Mac version of the plug-in. Both of these have been made available for everyone to use, directly from our web site and through our Facebook app.

During this beta phase, we have not take measures to restrict Web World access. That is, although you initially log in to SpotON3D, it has been possible to then log off and back into another virtual world, such as Second Life. Although we have permitted this up until now, the fact is that it took a great deal of time, effort and investment on our part to come up with a plug-in that provides a full client experience, something that no one else has been able to accomplish to date.

The World on a Web beta program is now approaching its end. As of January 5, 2012, access using our plug-in will be restricted to the SpotOn3D Network of Web Worlds. After that date, you will no longer be able to use the plug-in to access worlds which are not directly affiliated with SpotON3D.

If you have a particular project for which you'd like to continue using our World on the Web program after January 5, 2012, please get in touch with us at contact@spoton3d.com.
