SpotON3D Developer Program – Here we go!

Just over 2 weeks ago we announced our Developer Program, offering pro-active support and marketing to the developers and content creators active in our Web Worlds. Today we’re happy to report that behind the scenes our team has been working on getting the first bits and bolts together for the program.

Let’s have a look at what we’ve got ready for you.

First, and most important; we published and presented our Developer and Certified Developer Program action plan. We do invite you all to have a look at it, and to let us know your feedback. You can find it online at

That link brings you to the newly launched Developer Program mini site where which will be the main information hub for everything related to our Developer Program. On longer term, this website will be aimed at both Developers and businesses & organizations looking for a developer. On the particular page mentioned above, you will be continuously kept up-to-date about how our Developer Program is coming along.

We also mentioned that we’ll be bringing you updates through appropriate social medias, such as LinkedIn and Twitter to start. A first step in this has been the launch of our dedicated twitter feed for developers. Jump over to and hit the “follow” button. Let us know your feedback on our Developer Program through twitter by using our hashtag #so3ddev.

Expect more to come your way pretty soon, and don’t hesitate to share your feedback on our current progress and planning, either through twitter or by contacting the SpotON3D Developer Program Manager Phil at

Happy Monday all!

VeeSome Landrush - Last chance!

Have you ever seen regions fly? Here at SpotON3D® we actually did, as the VeeSome Landrush regions just flew out of the door. Not even a month after our Phoenix viewer announcement on January 24th, we've seen close to a 120 regions rented and a fair bunch of parcels became homes to new residents. So here's a quick message for those that would like to enjoy a lifelong guaranteed low price; be quick, 'cause we only got a few of those regions and parcels left!

Once all the regions are sold, we will stop our Landrush action, and the "normal" prices and rates will be applied to regions in all of our grids again. Please note; don't let the "Veesome Landrush" action name fool you - your region can be moved to any of our grids when desired.

With only 25 special priced regions left and about 20 parcels, the clock is ticking!

Once these are out, the pricing will return to;

For parcels: $24.99 setup fees

  • 732 prims parcel @ 14.99USD/month
  • 1875 prims parcel @ 18.99USD/month
  • 2373 prims @ 24.99USD/month

For islands: $49.99 setup fees

  • 3750 prims island @ 39.99USD/month
  • 5000 prims island @ 59.99USD/month
  • 15000 prims island @ 74.99USD/month

All of the above prices include a premium key-account with 5 avatars, all enjoying all the benefits a premium account has to offer. Don't hesitate any longer, and contact us today at to reserve your region at the special low prices. Make sure to visit for all information on our Landrush action.

Announcing the SpotON3D Developer Program

We're most happy to report that at SpotON3D® there's an ever growing in-stream of new users of all categories; recreational users, business users, content creators and application developers. Especially for the incoming content creators and application developers, the SpotON3D team is excited to announce we're developing a SpotON3D Developer Program.

Internet-veteran and SpotON3D team member Philippe "Phil" Pascal, Co-founder of Metaverse Developer Snowcrash Digital™ and published author on topics of new media and marketing, will be developing a fully-featured developer and certified developer program for content creators and application developers active within our Web Worlds™.

The developer program will focus on five elements of sim design and execution. First and most important; Quality assurance - as Web Worlds are still a pretty new medium it's not always easy for users to judge the quality of the products delivered to them. With our certification system, SpotON3D aims to offer a certain level of quality insurance, so potential users can have faith that they're investing in a good, stable and reliable product.

Secondly there's pro-active support. SpotON3D will have a group established for the SO3D Developer Program members, giving you direct access to your peers and dedicated staff of SpotON3D. It is hoped this will establish a clear line of communication for directly collaboration between our team and yours, offering an appropriate response in a timely fashion.

We also aim for a high level of transparency, meeting with our developers on regular times talking them through the upcoming new features and evolutions well enough in advance for them to be able to anticipate. Networking will also play an important role in our developer program, introducing our developers to each other, and highlighting each other's specialties. We strongly believe that by encouraging networking between all the specialized developers, we will bring a higher level of quality to the projects taking place in our Web Worlds. Last, but certainly not least, SpotON3D will actively promote and market the projects and products developed by our content creators and application developers to businesses as they come in.

There’s a window of opportunity for developers to step in and help formulate how their role will meld with the SpotON3D objectives. Over the next month, we’ll be announcing meetings for members of our developer community to come together for this purpose. To join us in this exciting expansion of our services, please reach out to us with your ideas and suggestions through Phil Pascal, the SO3D Developer Program Manager via e-mail at Within the month we’ll be sending out invitations to those expressing an interest and help you get back to work.

What is BoostCLOUD?

HOST UP TO 125 Users
In a Dedicated Cloud Server

A lot of people have been asking for details about our BoostCLOUD™ servers and the usual suspects seem intent on confusing the facts, so I figured I'd get it written down so no one is confused or led astray. This is a new deal because SpotON3D is, we think, the only grid that has integrated Cloud Servers into their system. This gives region owners the choice to temporarily ramp up the power, privacy, and performance on their regions for a low hourly rate.

And let me repeat that - ITS A CHOICE. No one is forced to use it, so no one needs to worry about mysterious charges or of suddenly getting a huge bill because a huge group of people ran into your region and triggered something, as some folks have implied.

The bottom line is, everyone wants a low cost alternative. But, they also want great stability, privacy, and performance. In addtion, they want the option to hang out with as many friends as they can - but not for 200-300 a month! Why pay for a high cost laggy shared server all month long when you can have a dedicated server at your disposal and only pay for it when you actually need it? Our regular lite-use grid is designed to host well above the normal user numbers for an average region owner, with the option to ramp up the capacity, privacy, and performance for a really sweet low hourly fee.

• BoostCloud™ is never automated - It’s always YOUR CHOICE to turn it on.

Why pay $200-$300 a month to share a server, just to occasionally host events, and then freeze up or crash when 50-60 people arrive? BoostCloud lets you host up to 125 users at low hourly fees, so you only pay for that extra capacity when you actually need it.
PERFECT FOR CLUB OWNERS! WHY PAY MORE FOR LESS? Are you paying 200-300 a month and getting lag and inconsistent user hosting abilities on another grid? Turn on your BoostCloud Server in SpotON3D regions and you can party down with up to 125 of your best clubbers for $100’s of dollars less with monster performance!
IT’S ALL ABOUT THE MATH! Even if you use BoostCloud four times a week for four hours at a time to host up to 50 users, that’s still only $95.36 a month- Way less than the 200-300 per month and with better power, privacy and stability.
BoostCloud™ PRICING:
o $1.49/hr for up to 50 people
o $2.99/hr for up to 100 people
o $3.99/hr for up to 125 people

So while you're scooting around the Metaverse, make sure you keep in mind the one truth (that no one I think can argue with) when you see prices that seem too good to be true, or feel lag when you go in, or crash repeatedly - You get what you pay for.

NEED HIGH CAPACITY HOSTING 24/7? Yes, we even offer that if you really need or want it.

Ask us about our Shared & Dedicated Server Options. Just email us at and tell us a bit about your project and how many concurrent users you think you’ll need to accommodate.

Around the world with SpotON3D® - Part 3

After a very exciting week at SpotON3D in which we announced our partnership with Phoenix Viewer and had the wonderful Mankind Tracer and Craig Lyons perform in our Web Worlds™, we're all very much up to speed here at SpotON3D and happy to show you some more of the momentum that's on our side.
One of the many exciting projects being developed in our Web Worlds is the Content Creator Conference & Expo. Phoenix DaVinci of Auspicious Primz is the lead builder for the event scheduled for sometimes in April. AS you can see he’s making real progress! Lovely build!

Francisco Koolhoven and Rettiset Gopheller are part of the lead organizers for what should be a huge Metaverse event. The idea behind the CCCE is to bring creators, grid owners and users together to explore opportunities to collaborate and do business together, learn about the growing market outside of SL and maybe even generate some sales of Migration Packages. What’s that you ask? Well, every creator has old content that for one reason or another they take off the market and squirrel away in their inventories. While most of it is deemed outdated for Second Life® users, many in the OpenSim community would be ecstatic to have them, either as freebies or for a bulk package price. Creators make money off old content they can’t sell anymore in SL and get their name out to users they might not have had any brand awareness with before. Everyone wins! Yah! \0/
We are looking for more panel members to head up the CCCE 2011 and for volunteers to help out. Just email us at if you’re interested.

Stay tuned for future updates on this content creators conference & more news about the SpotON3D Developer Program, our version of Solution Providers .
And to all our new residents …. If you’ve got a project or story you’d like to see featured in our "Around the world"-series don't hesitate to contact Phil at
